ਫਰੀਦਾ ਬਾਰਿ ਪਰਾਇਐ ਬੈਸਣਾ ਸਾਂਈ ਮੁਝੈ ਨ ਦੇਹਿ॥
Meanings: Fareed prays, O Lord, do not make me to beg at other’s door.
ਫਰੀਦ ਜੀ ਸਾਂਈ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਸਾਂਈ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਾ ਦੇ।

ਜੇ ਤੂ ਏਵੈ ਰਖਸੀ ਜੀਉ ਸਰੀਰਹੁ ਲੇਹਿ॥
Meanings: If this is the way you are going to keep me, then take away my life.
ਜੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਹੀ ਦਸਤਕ ਦੇਣੇ ਪੈਣੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿੰਦ ਕੱਢ ਲੈ।
Did Fareed jI knocked on other’s door to fulfill his day to day needs? Certainly not, by relating it to ownself, Fareed Ji is advising us. parthaye saakhi mahaa purakh bolday sanjhee sagal jahanai (GGS 647) ਪਰਥਾਇ ਸਾਖੀ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਸਾਝੀ ਸਗਲ ਜਹਾਨੈ॥ ਗੁ.ਗ੍ਰੰ.ਸਾ.੪੭॥Meanings: Accomplished men speak the teachings by relating them to individual situations, but the whole world shares in them. Teachings are to shun dependence. A Sikh should be self -sufficient to fulfill his needs. He should also be perfect in modern education. It is not possible to secure good jobs or business without having good knowledge. But way of life has to be maintained as per the teachings of GURUS and in accordance with Sikhism. A Sikh should also be vigilant regarding the negative side of the modern education and inventions. T.V, Mobile, cybernetics, social and electronic media, press and film industry is required to be engaged for development of society and not for its destruction.
Science is not the answer for each and every thing. Science is not yet complete in all respects. Therefore Science which is incomplete cannot be used as touchstone or yard-stick to adjudge GURBANI which is complete in all respects. The astonishing events of Sikh History are also not the subject of science. MANMUKHS distrust wonders of GURU SAHIBAN. They are also suspicious of astonishing deeds of GURMUKHS. They also malign un-paralleled events of Sikh History by naming them ‘KARAMAT’ (miracle) and justify their opinion by telling ‘KARAMAT’ is prohibited in Sikhism. They do this due to their limited knowledge and low spiritualism. What is ‘KRAMAT’? The happenings which are beyond the perception of human wisdom are known as ‘KARAMAT’ (krwmwq). ‘KARAMAT’ like events are taking place daily in the Universe. They are mystery for Science as well as for human beings. Ifs and buts on GURBANI and GURUS should be discouraged. We have to build up capacity for fighting challenges being posed by the erupting anti- Sikh forces.
When there was opportunity to shun the yoke of dependence, we did not avail it. We trusted the then Congress Leaders that they will safeguard our rights after attaining the independence. They lured us not to accept a separate territory for Sikhs within India proposed by British Cabinet and persuaded us to remain with them. After achieving independence the Congress Leaders did not fulfill the promises made by them pre-independence for Sikhs. No safeguard was offered to Sikhs while declaring the Constitution of India in I950 CE. Sikhs did not accept this Constitution and rejected it. In subsequent years all the personal laws of Sikhs were abolished and replaced by Hindu statutes such as “Hindu Marriage Act 1955” and “Hindu succession Act 1956” etc. Sikh did not accept these Acts. When Sikhs reminded Jawaharlal Nehru the then Prime Minister of India for the solemn promises made to Sikhs by his Hindu dominated Congress Party, he replied “The circumstances have now changed”. What he meant is ‘The purpose of the Congress’s diplomacy to resist Sikhs to accept Independent territory offered by British Cabinet within India has been achieved and therefore there is no harm in breaking the promises made pre-independence to Sikhs’. What a cheating reply? We organized agitations in order to make the Congress Leaders to fulfill their promises made to Sikhs but in vain. We have yet to achieve our goal. Our prominent leaders, who were then leading the agitations, have now become partners of our opponents. Look at innocent Sikhs; they believe the CUNNING and LIAR politicians in spite of being cheated by them every now and then. Leave aside giving us our rights, our demand for our right is declared as illegal by Hindu dominated Governments of India. Leave aside others, we ourselves are not united. In order to remain in power, some Sikh politicians and some selfish Sikhs continue destabilizing and dividing Sikhs by keeping useless topics alive. We have to be cautious about their hidden agenda. No one should be allowed to weaken will power and high spirits of Sikhs. Some strange baseless searches of so-called awakened Sikhs are also harming Sikhism. How one can be an awakened when he is attempting to cut the branch on which he is sitting? We can achieve our GOAL if we remain united and make required efforts to restrict the attempts of the thwarters and cunnings leader/ politicians to malign the spirit of Sikhism and destabilized Sikhs.
Problems do come. Brave nations do not get demoralized but they come over the problems by fighting odds. For example look at Jews; they have deep affection for their traditions, culture and religion. They were dislodged but did not give up their religion. Rather they continued their struggle to capture Jerusalem, Israel and succeeded in 1948 CE after the struggle for centuries. Israel is now a powerful country and has the capacity to influence the World politics. Sikhs being a brave nation will certainly secure their rights if they remain attached to SIKHISM and launch the struggle united.
